Baseline sequence: strum at normal distance → hit the strings harder → move the guitar/phone closer. Only if the raw signal remains inadequate do we add a neutral external stage such as the ToneWood, then a wired/direct input.

The gentle gate reduces room/wind noise mainly between notes; it cannot remove background sound underneath a played note without more aggressive processing. Bluetooth/device output can add substantial latency beyond the Web Audio estimate.
